Aa-mantu bil-laa-hi wa malaa-ʾikatihi wa kutu-bihi wa rusu-lihi
wal-yaw-mil aakhiri, wal-qadri khay-rihi wa shar-rihi minal laahi taʿaa-laa, wal-baʿthi baʿdal mawt.
I believe in Allāh, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, the Divine Decree: that all good and bad is from Allāh, the Most High, and I believe in the resurrection after death.
These are the ‘Articles of Faith.’ These words further outline what ʾĪmān entails. These are the seven things which is necessary for a Muslim to proclaim His faith in. The famous ḥadīth of Jibrāʾīl lists these articles of faith. A person cannot be a believer without it. ʾImām Dhahabī (رحمه الله) has listed these articles as farḍ (compulsory) for every believer to know as quoted on page 48.

[…] He then left and I [ʿUmar] waited for some time. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ then asked me: “O ʿUmar! Do you know who the questioner was?” I replied: “Allāh and His Messenger know best.” He said: “That was Jibrāʾīl. He came to you to teach you matters of your religion.” Collected by Muslim.[1]
